With 2023 already starting, you’re probably already working hard on those New Year resolutions. Whether you’re looking to get to the gym more often, spend more time with family or spend less time in front of a screen, we are here to help every step of the way.
We can help you get your health on track during the New Year through our first-of-its-kind complementary medicine program that allows you to reach your highest health potential by complementing conventional medicine with alternative therapies.
We sat down with GHC-SCW’s Alison Haack to learn more.
- What exactly is comp med?
The Complementary Medicine department focuses on a holistic approach to wellness. The comp med providers collaborate with your primary care physician and other specialty care providers. We provide individual appointments that focus on the promotion of natural healing of the body, pain management, and stress reduction. Our classes also promote improved balance and flexibility, increased muscle toning and self-care techniques.
We offer various appointments, including naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, mind & body care, reflexology, reiki, structural integration, and therapeutic bodywork. Most patients seek treatment to assist with pain and stress reduction or to seek additional options to support a specific health condition.
The GHC Complementary Medicine department was the first in Dane County. We have 18 years of experience supporting patients in their physical and emotional well-being.
- What kind of classes can I take through comp med?
We offer Yoga, Tai Chi, Belly Dance/ Zumba®, Stress Management, Aromatherapy and At Home Massage Techniques for Pairs. We offer both in-person and virtual class options.
Check our website for new topics throughout the year.
